Summary
We’re seeking a Commercial Manager (Utilities / Infrastructure Projects) to join Movar, a project delivery consultancy that help clients across the UK transform how major projects are delivered.
Movar is in an exciting phase of growth. Founded in 2013, the company has a strong reputation across utilities and infrastructure, but what really sets them apart is their culture. It’s a people-first environment, entrepreneurial in feel, and supportive of autonomy, development and progression. They believe in empowering their people to make an impact, not just on client projects, but within the business itself.
This new role offers the chance to play a vital part in the successful delivery of major infrastructure assignments within the water sector. Working as a trusted partner to clients, you'll lead the commercial management of projects and programmes, from procurement and cost control through to contracts, risk management and final accounts. You'll also play a visible role with key stakeholders, providing strategic guidance and clear reporting around financials, commercial risks and change.
Movar works with a wide range of clients, so after one project ends, you're never left standing still, you're supported onto the next opportunity, offering long-term stability and varied, meaningful work. Whilst Movar support remote working, you’ll be expected to travel to client sites and attend the office on a weekly basis.
Key Requirements: You should be a commercially astute professional with a CV that demonstrates:
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial management, including at least 2 years in a client-facing or consulting role.
• Strong background in cost management, procurement, subcontracts and contract administration.
• Proven experience managing EWNs, CE, risk, and final accounts (NEC3 contract experience is essential).
• Solid commercial instincts and the ability to provide clear strategic advice to senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
• Experience within the utilities or infrastructure sector is highly desirable.
A degree in a relevant subject (Engineering, Project Management etc.) is preferred. NEC accreditation or commercial certifications (e.g. AACE, RICS, PMI-SP) is also a bonus. Ideally based in the South East, north of London for easy access to client sites (e.g. Peterborough / Midlands area).
In return, you'll be part of a collaborative, values-led team, with a competitive salary, company pension, life insurance and long-term project continuity. The business values flexibility, individuality, and the chance to shape both your role and your future.
