Isle of Wight Youth Trust is an independent local charity, working in our local community for 40 years, delivering confidential, professional counselling, therapeutic and wellbeing services for children and young people. We are looking for two part-time roles working within our expanding youth employment team, in partnership with the DWP. We are seeking a Youth Employment Assistant and an Employment Skills Builder. For the right candidate, this could be a combined full-time role.

Purpose:

Youth Employment Assistant: To support young people in overcoming barriers to employment, training, and education by providing direct assistance, guidance, and connection to appropriate services, while supporting their mental health and personal development.

Employment Skills Builder: To empower young people with practical employability and life skills through structured and informal 1:1 and group-based training, enabling them to be job-ready and resilient in the job market.

Contract type: Fixed Term - until 31st March 2026 (with hope this would extend, funding dependant)

Hours: Dependant on role

Salary: £24,637 FTE (pro-rated)

Interview date: Please note if you are shortlisted for interview, you will be invited to attend an assessment workshop from 09.00-12.00 on Monday 2nd June - and those who are successful in the morning will then be asked back for an interview that same afternoon - so you will need to be available from 09.00-15.30 on Monday 2nd June.
