Summary

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic individual to act as an Election Co-ordinator and to work in our election team to assist in the successful delivery of elections.

The post will be based in Normandy Court, Dalkeith although the post-holder will also be expected to work remotely. In the immediate run approach to an election, the post will be entirely office based.

KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of the electoral process is desirable for this post. This can be gained through on-the-job training and experience and/or through election administration qualifications.

The jobholder must have well-developed administrative skills and be able to work unsupervised in a pressurised environment. Experience of working to tight deadlines and the ability to analyse systems and procedures in order to develop, recommend and implement changes is also required.

It is essential that the jobholder has the ability to engage with people at all levels to establish and maintain good working relationships and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £37,618.22 per annum.

Responsibilities

Compliance with the mandatory Cabinet Office PSN (Public Sector Network) Code of Connection requires the Council to meet a baseline personal security standard. This requires completion of a disclosure check for all employees who can access official information. The fee for this PSN Disclosure check will be met by you.
