Summary

Equans is looking for a Maintenance Assistant / Stores Co-ordinator to join our team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

This is a full-time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

This role involves a wide variety of duties, from routine and reactive maintenance to assisting other skilled trades and supporting stores operations. It is ideal for someone with a general construction background and an interest in technical services. While experience in building service systems and general maintenance is preferred, full training will be provided.


What will you deliver?

  • Undertake general, planned, and reactive maintenance duties within your skillset.
  • Carry out minor repairs to building fabric to ensure safety and security.
  • Support other skilled trades in repairs, installations, testing, and inspections.
  • Respond appropriately to adverse weather conditions (snow clearing, flooding, etc.).
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure best value for services and materials.
  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records in line with statutory requirements.
  • Support the Store Co-Ordinator with general stores duties (ordering, stock taking, equipment checks).
  • Follow Health and Safety policies and maintain good site practices.
  • Provide cover and assistance across other sites in your portfolio as required.
  • Ensure prompt and professional resolution of issues to minimize service penalties.
  • Maintain a professional, presentable image and uphold our company's core values.

Who are you?


Essential:

  • Good IT literacy and administrative ability
  • Willingness to learn and undertake relevant training
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team


Desirable:

  • Previous experience in building service systems or facilities maintenance
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance
