We’re looking for an experienced marketing manager to lead our portfolio of coffee brands, including Ueshima Coffee Company, in the UK & Ireland.

Since its launch in the UK in 2021, we’ve been building our brand Ueshima Coffee Company in retail and ecommerce channels and winning the hearts of UK coffee drinkers. The role will be responsible for delivering the brand strategy, to build our market presence, drive consumer engagement and support business profitability and growth. You’ll be a guardian for the brand across all touchpoints.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Marketing to develop longer-term strategies for all brands, our brand team and agencies to deliver communications plans and our commercial team to ensure brilliant trade marketing and brand performance.

The role will also be responsible for our full coffee brand portfolio including Lyons and Grand Café brands, and contribute to marketing our private label offer and licenced brands.

The Role:

Own our coffee brand portfolio, developing annual and mid-term strategies and delivering plans that will optimise and grow our coffee brand performance in foodservice and retail channels
Plan and manage the implementation of all Ueshima & UK coffee brand marketing activities in the UK & Ireland working closely with our brand manager
Build and develop brand calendars, and effective communications plans, through earned, owned and paid channels, including briefs, agency relationships, delivery and evaluations
Brand guardianship for Ueshima and UK coffee brands, ensuring brand standards are clear, and delivered through all touchpoints
Responsible for ongoing brand analysis and reporting, with support from junior brand manager. Closely monitor brand profitability, customer P&Ls, opportunities and risks to inform recommendations and adjustments to meet brand targets and work with the commercial leads to optimise profitability & brand performance
Oversee brand manager for retail trade plans to maximise in store performance and rate of sale, and digital media plans to deliver growth in direct to consumer and ecommerce channels
Work with brand manager to plan and deliver calendar of events – from sponsorships and consumer events through to sampling and retail engagement
Work with the OOH Marketing Manager and commercial teams to market and activate our brands in OOH (B2B) channels and build strong brand toolkits, ensuring commercial teams are briefed on new innovations, product focuses and storytelling
Lead cross-functional teams to deliver the innovation pipeline, packaging changes and new products to market, working closely with supply chain, procurement, NPD, category, sales, sustainability and external agencies to ensure timely delivery
Ownership of the Ueshima & UK coffee brand budget, ensuring accurate budget management and reporting
Manage activities of UK agencies & partners to ensure delivery of plan within budget and timeframes, ensure marketing sign off processes are respected
Support the development of bespoke brand creation and NPD for key customers
Line management responsibility for our Ueshima brand manager

The Person:

Motivated brand marketer with FMCG (food and drink) or hot beverage background
Degree/professional qualification desired but not essential
Line management experience
Self-starter and highly driven, with exceptional people skills
Strong commercial acumen & ability to analyse and build brand P&Ls
Proven ability to manage multiple projects & marketing budgets
Experience in ecommerce, consumer communications (earned, owned and paid)
An eye for detail with the ability to write briefs, proposals and review creative work
Flexible approach to work, hours and travel as required (occasional overnight travel/out of hours work may be required)
