Torus has been commissioned by St Helens Council to provide vital support services to victims of domestic abuse across the
borough, including the Safe2Speak Domestic Abuse Refuge.
To ensure individuals and families in need of accommodation-based support can access timely and effective help, we are expanding
our refuge provision. As part of this growth, we are recruiting Refuge Key Workers to join our new scheme. These roles will
operate on a shift pattern, providing essential support across the following hours:
Shift Pattern:
* Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 6:00pm
* Saturday and Sunday: 10:00am – 4:00pm
* You will be required to work one weekend in every three.
* In this role, you will provide essential housing-related support to individuals and families escaping domestic abuse, helping
them rebuild their lives in a safe and supportive environment.
* This is a 12-month fixed-term role with the potential for extension beyond this period.
Responsibilities:
* Complete assessments and reviews for individuals and deliver support which is outcome focused and which promotes independence.
* Develop, plan and deliver 1:1 sessions with clients either in the Refuge, their own homes or by assisting to access services
with the local community in line with their assessment and support plan.
* Plan and assist with client resettlement into communities; completing home visits and liaising with other professionals and
services to maximise sustainability of tenancy.
* Ensure residents are adhering to the guidelines and conditions of occupancy and carry out first and second level warning for
breaches whilst in Refuge.
* Provide assistance, information and support to callers of the 24-hour helpline and carry out emergency admissions where
required.
* Complete agreed client-based records, contact sheets, and safeguarding logs.
* Facilitate the in-house Domestic Abuse Awareness training programme.
* Facilitate tenant engagement activities, seeking tenant feedback
Skills & Experience:
* GCSE grade 3 and above education or equivalent relevant qualification, training or experience.
* Evidence of and commitment to continual professional and personal development
* CIH level 3 or willingness to work towards
* Evidence of working with people suffering domestic abuse and/or complex needs.
* Demonstrates ability to engage with clients with complex needs.
* Track record of completing assessments and developing support plans with
* targets and outcomes for clients.
* Track record of managing a case load and multi-agency working
Interview Process:
* Candidates will undergo an in-person interview , consisting of competency-based questions.

* 2x Completed references
* OH Health Questionnaire – Fit For Work
* DBS check (if required for role)
