Summary

We’re looking for a Relief Catering Assistant to join our friendly team at Clarence Park Retirement Village in Malvern.

This is a kitchen-based, flexible role providing cover when our core team is on leave or needs extra support. You’ll mainly work lunchtimes (10:30am–2:30pm), with the occasional evening shift until 8:30pm. No early mornings, no breakfast prep, and no split shifts — just simple, satisfying work that makes a real difference to our residents.

You’ll support the Cook with a range of kitchen tasks such as preparing vegetables, making sandwiches, plating up meals, and keeping the kitchen clean and organised. From time to time, you may also help serve food or assist with social events in our communal dining area, where residents come together to eat and chat. Our style of cooking is to provide our residents with home-from-home cooked meals.

This is a great opportunity to work in a welcoming, community-focused setting — ideal for someone looking for flexible, part-time hours and a job that’s both practical and rewarding.

About You

You won't need professional catering experience — just a love of food, a willingness to learn, confidence in a large kitchen, and the ability to work as part of a small, supportive team.

You’ll be:

Practical, friendly, and confident in a kitchen environment

Someone who communicates well and brings a positive, flexible attitude

Reliable and happy to step in when needed, and at times, with short notice

Whether you're returning to work, looking for a flexible role to fit around other commitments, or simply want to be part of a team that helps others live and eat well, this could be an ideal role for you.

Ideally, we’d like you to have a Drivers License and access to a car, however we are very flexible on this.
