Raw Materials Co-Ordinator

We have a new opportunity for a Raw Materials Co-Ordinator to join our brilliant Supply Chain team at our food manufacturing site
based in Crewe!

Location: Crewe

Hours: 39 per week – working 8am-4pm Monday-Thursday & 8am-3:30pm on Friday

Salary: £32,000 per annum



Purpose:

We’re looking for a Raw Materials Coordinator to ensure all raw materials and packaging are ordered on time to support the
production schedule. You’ll work closely with approved suppliers to maintain supply continuity, helping keep operations running
smoothly and efficiently.



Main Duties:

* Ensure a safe working environment for all employees by strict enforcement of the Wrights food group health and safety policy
and by developing a proactive culture to reducing accidents.
* Assist in raising day to day purchase orders that are called for from the MCO (Material call off) sheets.
* Administration and daily checks on all materials with longer lead times to ensure forward orders are placed within this lead
time.
* Orders to be placed via the manual sheet doc which is part of the MCO doc (items that are not called for currently on the MCO
sheet)
* The MCO document must be maintained regularly (material call off) as this is the main tool for calling of requirements for the
production to go ahead on time and in full.
* Chasing outstanding orders from suppliers.
* Assistance in dealing with the day-to-day issues on raw materials and packaging.
* Assistance in highlighting any issues that influence customer orders, that are in place/planned.
* Help resolve any purchase ledger queries that are bought to your attention.
* Liaising with supply chain function if ingredients require collecting.
* Process orders for goods inward shipping, providing accurate documentation in accordance with relevant legislation.
* Maintain knowledge of products and process involved in the day-to-day delivery of goods.
* Assist in shelf-life management, highlighting issues by working with operations & supply chain to reduce any potential stock
write off.
* Encompass aspects of receiving goods to enable the warehouse to receive in good order.
* Actively involved in maintaining batch and stock location accuracy on company software.



Health, Safety & Environment Responsibilities:

* Know Health & Safety responsibilities, the site rules, and bring to the attention to issues that could affect own, or others
Health, Safety & Welfare.
* Work in a safe manner at all times
* Fully comply with all signage, notices, warning labels etc.
* Bring to the attention of your manager any hazards or unsafe conditions that may lead to injury, ill health, or damage.
* Participate fully in all Health, Safety & Environmental training sessions, and Safety Briefings / Toolbox Talks
* Not misuse of interfere with anything provided to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
* Ensure a good standard of housekeeping is maintained within the working environment to minimise the risk of injury to
themselves or others
* Correctly use and store the protective clothing and equipment provided.
* Report all injuries, near misses, and instances of ill health that occur to them at work and obtain the necessary First Aid
Treatment.
* Help in the investigation of accidents in order to prevent recurrence.
* Set a good example of safe behaviour, particularly to new starters and young persons.



Food Safety & Quality Responsibilities:

* Works to required food safety & quality standards
* Observes the site personal hygiene requirements.
* Ensure that correct procedures are being followed, paperwork is being filled out correctly and the quality of product is good
* Ensuring working area is clean and tidy
* Encourage good practice and challenge poor practice relating to CAYG (Clean as you go) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)



Skills & Competencies:

* Working knowledge of TROPOS and associated systems.
* Ability to analyse and present operational KPI’s.
* Familiar in the use of inventory control software for the receiving and issuing of stock in a manufacturing environment.
* Sound numerical and negotiation skills to enable sound communication with suppliers, transportation, and distribution
businesses.
* High level of IT skills (e.g., word/excel/PowerPoint/outlook)
* Energy drive and determination to succeed.
* Ability to build strong working relationships external & internal colleagues.
* Proactive nature, willing to learn quickly and to take new challenges.
* Appreciation of goods in and store disciplines.
