We're Hiring: Training Coordinator – Power T&D | Balfour Beatty

Location: Based between our Derby and Stanton Training Centres (60/40 Office/WFH split)
Team: Power Transmission & Distribution (T&D)
Working Arrangement: Full-time | Hybrid working

At Balfour Beatty, we shape the future of infrastructure. We’re looking for a proactive and organised Training Coordinator to join our Power T&D team and play a key role in supporting the training and competence development of our operational workforce.

The role will focus mainly on Plant training, so previous experience in working with plant in construction and awarding bodies such as NPORS, CPCS, CITB would be an advantage

About the Role:

You’ll be the backbone of our training team, ensuring smooth, efficient delivery of training and competence activities. Working closely with trainers, assessors, and operations, your role will involve:

  • Coordinating internal and external training courses and programmes
  • Managing trainer diaries and scheduling assessments
  • Accurately logging and maintaining training records and certifications
  • Supporting the team with day-to-day administration and reporting tasks
  • Ensuring compliance with internal training and competence processes

What you'll be doing

Key Accountabilities:

  • To ensure that all elements of the role are followed through to resolution. Responsible for carrying out relevant
    quality audit checks to ensure compliance with all relevant procedures and to record any non-compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure all requests (Internal & External) are actioned prior to the training event taking place and that all
    pre administration checks are carried out
  • To facilitate and maintain effective communication links with the Trainers and allocate work to Trainer’s diaries
  • Facilitate and coordinate the administration process - Registrations/Tracking candidates/Applications
  • To ensure all courses and attendance are recorded on the training and competence data base
  • To ensure all successful delegates receive relevant certificates of achievement following attendance on an organised training event and this recorded on the training and competence data base
  • To ensure all training materials/packs are in place prior to the start of each training event;
  • Ensure all centre visitors and course attendee’s sign into the site;
  • To support the pre-planning of training and record any changes to the programme;
  • To provide general administration support to the Technical Training admin team where needed
  • To promote a professional image at all time in support of the companies and department values
  • To ensure that you develop your capabilities through continuing professional development
  • To carryout any additional responsibilities from time to time in line with business needs
  • To facilitate and maintain effective communication links with the operations and training teams
  • Manage Training room allocation;
  • To ensure that we minimise and manage cancellations and non-attendance through effective communication links with all parties and the relevant line managers; ·
  • To assist in the facility Management of the site;
  • To ensure all incidents and accidents are reported via the correct systems; ·
  • To carry out any additional responsibilities from time to time in line with business needs

Who we're looking for

  • Good IT skills, particularly with Microsoft packages such as Word and Excel
  • Knowledge or previous experience of working with construction awarding bodies would be a distinct advantage.
  • Good Administration skill set (Experience essential), A good telephone manner
