Job Title: Children’s Residential Support Worker – Waking Nights
Location: Milton Keynes (MK5)
Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour
About the Role:
Social Care & Education are offering a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate and caring individual to join our dedicated team as a Children’s Residential Support Worker in Milton Keynes. This is a rewarding role where you will play a vital part in providing safety, security, and emotional support to young people during the night.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure the safety, welfare and wellbeing of the young people throughout the night
• Support young people with any needs they may have overnight, offering emotional reassurance and practical assistance where necessary
• Carry out regular welfare checks and ensure the environment remains safe and secure
• Complete accurate and detailed reports, logs and handovers for daytime staff
• Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
• Respond appropriately to any incidents or emergencies in line with company policies
• Maintain a calm, nurturing, and supportive environment at all times
Requirements:
• Recent experience working in a children’s residential home is essential
• Proven experience supporting young people aged 16 and under
• A current Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service
• In-date mandatory training including Safeguarding, First Aid, Fire Safety and Medication (desirable)
• Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection
• Excellent communication, observation, and record-keeping skills
• A compassionate, resilient and patient nature
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Flexibility to work waking night shifts, including weekends
