Social Care and Education are looking for experienced Children’s Residential Support Workers to join our valued team in Milton Keynes (MK5). This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive, professional environment where your role has a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing continuous care and supervision to children and young people living within the home. Your duties will include:
Ensuring the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of children and young people overnight
Offering emotional support, reassurance, and a calming presence when needed
Carrying out regular welfare and safety checks throughout the night
Responding to any incidents, safeguarding concerns, or emergencies in line with policies and procedures
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of observations, incidents, and handovers
Supporting the evening and bedtime routines, ensuring a settled and safe environment
Encouraging positive behaviour and managing challenging situations with empathy and professionalism
Promoting independence and life skills in line with individual care plans
Ensuring the home remains clean, tidy, and organised throughout the night
Working as part of a dedicated team to deliver consistent, person-centred care
Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years’ UK experience working in a residential children’s home setting
Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent) is desirable
An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service is essential
A caring, reliable, and resilient nature with excellent communication skills
A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
