We are seeking a full-time Physiotherapist to join our Emergency Medicine and Acute Assessment therapy team.

The successful candidate will become part of our well-established, integrated team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, delivering comprehensive and specialist therapy assessments. The team focuses on preventing avoidable admissions for a diverse cohort of patients within the Emergency Department and Acute Assessment Unit.

Interviews are scheduled for 21st May 2025.

The advertised post is a substantive position, with an additional fixed-term contract also expected to become available. The duration of the fixed-term post will be determined following the interview process.

Candidates should have extensive experience working with a variety of patient cohorts, including individuals with complex falls, orthopaedic conditions, and neurological presentations. They must demonstrate a sound knowledge of assessment and treatment within these groups.

Given the one-hour response time to the Emergency Department, candidates are expected to adopt a flexible approach to caseload management while ensuring all patient needs are effectively met.

In addition to delivering clinical care, candidates will support junior staff and share their clinical expertise. They should demonstrate strong leadership and organisational skills and will also be involved in HR-related tasks as part of their non-clinical responsibilities.

The post holder would be joining an established senior tier and would be responsible for the training and supervision of the junior team members, as well as key performance indicators and service developments.

The successful candidate will be expected to work on the therapy seven day working rota, of a 1:6 frequency with compensatory rest days in the following week, as well as being part of the on call service.

The ED and AAU team cover a service from 8am to 6pm seven days a week and as a member of this team there would be requirements to cover some of these shifts.

We offer training opportunities to develop your specialist skills in line with your PDR. We have senior leadership training opportunities on a regular basis as well courses funded externally.
