We are looking to appoint enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Registered Nurses who are either at the start of developing their leadership skills post HDU/critical care course or have band 6 experience in HDU and are looking for and exciting new challenge.

We are committed to developing and supporting a modern and flexible career framework within this exciting and evolving service. You will have the opportunity to rotate to our level 3 critical care unit to expand your knowledge and experience across the whole critical care spectrum.

We are an organisation that is committed to delivering excellence in patient care and values its staff and patients. We are also signed up to the NHS People Promise and support flexible working through team-based rostering.

The post holder will provide outstanding care to patients, staff, colleagues and other service users in keeping with the Trust’s WeCare values.
To assess, plan and provide direct patient care for post-surgical patients requiring enhanced or high dependency care with supervision from senior staff.

As a proficient practitioner, the post holder acts as a professional role model and clinical teacher.

The post holder will also provide effective mentorship and preceptorship, participating in the education and training of nursing and non-nursing staff.

The post holder will assume overall responsibility of the unit as required, liaising closely with the Matron and Senior Sister / Charge Nurse with continuing responsibility.

The Barts Health group of NHS hospitals is entering an exciting new era on our improvement journey to becoming an outstanding organisation with a world-class clinical reputation. Having lifted ourselves out of special measures, we now have the impetus and breathing space to chart a fresh course in which we are continually striving to improve all our services for patients.

Our vision is to be a high-performing group of NHS hospitals, renowned for excellence and innovation, and providing safe and compassionate care to our patients in east London and beyond. That means being a provider of excellent patient safety, known for delivering consistently high standards of harm-free care and always caring for patients in the right place at the right time. It also means being an outstanding place to work, in which our WeCare values and behaviours are visible to all and guide us in how we work together.

We strive to live by our WeCare values and are committed to promoting inclusion, where every staff member has a sense of belonging. We value our differences and fully advocate, cultivate and support an inclusive working environment.

We are dedicated to being an outstanding place to work and will work with you to get the best experience. We know flexible working is not a one size fits all and will mean something different to everyone. We are inclusive, so if you are interested in flexible working, please speak to the recruiting manager.
