Summary
Provide pharmaceutical care to a group of patients in various specialities at Chapel Allerton Hospital. Be responsible for ensuring that the legal and statutory requirements in relation to medicines are met and ensure that the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients in the defined clinical area meets both national and local standards. Provide professional pharmacist cover on a sessional basis to inpatient and outpatient dispensaries, Medicines Information, Aseptic services and Mental Health, in order to meet legal requirements. Participate in the dispensing and checking of clinical trial materials Participates in documenting of prescribing and administration near misses (interventions) Assist clinical colleagues in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the informed, economic use of medicines Assist clinical colleagues with horizon scanning activities for new treatments and products in the relevant area and with submissions to the Drugs and Therapeutics committee Assist clinical colleagues in the provision of accurate financial and risk-management data to the appropriate Clinical Management Team for the speciality Participate in the provision of Education and Training activities for all pharmacy staff Participate in research and development programs and audit within pharmacy services Receive prescription payments from patients where appropriate. Participate in the departments late night and weekend working arrangements.
