Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen within our team for a Care Pathway Lead for Nail Surgery to join our friendly, supportive Podiatry Team.

Our Podiatry Department is a forward thinking, busy service providing Podiatry Services to the GP population in Redbridge & Waltham Forest. The population that we serve are both multi-cultural and diverse.

Our Podiatry Care Pathway Leads are highly experienced, valuable members of the team with expert knowledge in their field. They are responsible for the speciality service that they lead including responsibility and organisation of effective care pathways as well as the day-to-day operational management and supervision of designated clinicians.

Your clinical work would be across an array of community & domiciliary settings across these boroughs, and acar driver is therefore essential to this role.
• take clinical responsibility for care pathways organising effectively and efficiently with regard to clinical priorities and ensuring that treatment / information is provided within the required AHP waiting times. Highlighting solutions to capacity concerns and proactively advising the service lead on solutions to manage demand
• provide operational and clinical leadership for the care pathway and responsibility for educating colleagues and junior staff and will be the main contact for expert advice and support for junior staff in the team
• will take lead responsibility for delivering high quality, timely, accessible, and evidence-based services for patients as part of the clinical pathway
• will undertake a high-risk clinical role according to current priority / demand on the service including comprehensive advanced assessment and treatment of patients with multiple pathologies formulating treatment plans based on clinical findings
• establish and implement systems and structures for effective monitoring of quality and service audit. Encouraging departmental clinical audit and research in specialist areas.
• will act as a lead clinical specialist for nail surgery and wound care in community

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of basic salary, with a minimum of £4,551 and maximum of £5,735, pro rata for part time staff

This vacancy would suit an experienced Band 6 Specialist Podiatrist with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the area of specialism required, and who can demonstrate leadership skills required for this role.
