Salary: £26,409 - £28,163 per annum, pro rata
Grade: F
Contract Type: Permanent
Vacancy Hours: 22.5 hours per week
Weekend Working: Yes
Location: Selby Area

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join North Yorkshire Council’s Early Help Service in the Selby area as a Children and Families Support Worker. This involves working in partnership to deliver a wide range of intervention and support to parents, carers, children, young people and their families to improve outcomes. This includes supervising Court directed contacts for children and families open to Children’s Social Care, group sessions and virtual delivery of parenting programmes. You will also work closely with the community and voluntary sectors to identify partnership ways of working to improve outcomes for Children and their families.

Based in Selby Children & Family Hub, but with some home working included, you will mainly work across the Selby district. The role may also involve supporting colleagues across other areas and travel further afield where necessary to support children and families.

The successful candidates will have experience of working directly with vulnerable children or young people and their families. Due to the nature of the service delivery the successful post holder will be working mainly afternoons and early evenings with occasional weekends. The hours and days to be discussed at the interview. Candidates must be highly focussed, committed, and adaptable individuals who have an aptitude to work in a fast-paced environment and have good organisational and communication skills.

North Yorkshire’s Children and Families service has an excellent reputation and received Outstanding across all areas when inspected by Ofsted. This role offers the successful candidate a unique opportunity to join one of the best Children and Families services in the country, as well as the opportunity to develop your professional skills and your career in an exciting, challenging but supportive environment.
