Summary
Project Overview:
At Hearts and Helpers, we support people who are affected by poverty and homelessness. The aim of this project is to address the often-overlooked mental health and wellbeing impact that are caused by these circumstances. Our allotment sessions will offer a therapeutic environment for individuals and families living in cramped hostels or facing housing challenges, providing relief from their circumstances, and promoting well-being.
Job Purpose:
The Project Assistant will help facilitate the successful delivery of this project. The Project Assistant will report to and be supported by the Project Manager and Trustees.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the delivery of workshops including their set up and tidy up.
• Support Hearts and Helpers beneficiaries achieve their goals within our workshops.
• Support day-to-day project operations, including coordinating with participants, volunteers, and stakeholders.
• Support the maintenance of our spaces including, watering, and weeding where needed.
• Participate in employee development opportunities, including training in areas such as safeguarding, mental health and horticulture.
Essential Experience and Skills:
• Awareness of health and safety standards
• Empathy and a passion for supporting individuals in the community.
• Experience working or volunteering within a community setting.
