Are you passionate about supporting young people with disabilities? If so, then this is a fantastic opportunity to work with the Community Children & Young People's Learning Disability Team (CYPMHS) Wirral.

This small and friendly team is made up of clinicians from a variety of different professional backgrounds, who will be on hand to support you in embedding your practice and skillset into the team.

You will work closely with families/carers, education and social care teams supporting young people with disabilities, providing assessment of their behavioural, communication and mental health needs, and provide interventions to address those needs, offering families/agencies guidance to implement change and enhance the young persons lived experience. In doing so building building confidence in their abilities to meet those needs.

This is a short contract to cover a short term vacancy and would suit a newly/recently qualified applicant from a variety of professional backgrounds including occupational therapy, speech and language, social work or nursing who are looking to widen their experience of working within a children and young people's mental health and learning disability service setting.

You will have: -
• A high level of enthusiasm and dedication to providing quality, community based mental health services to children, young people with disabilities and their families
• Experience of and/or an interest in working with children and young people with disabilities
• To have the necessary communication skills to develop working relationships with families and young people and an ability to think flexibly and adapt support using reasonable adjustments to engage with families.
• The main duties will include completing initial assessments and all the necessary clinical notes and letters, and updating the patient record.
• Attending MDT meetings and engaging in case discussion
• Engaging families in partnership work and holding a case load.
• Planning and developing treatment plans
• Engaging in regular supervision and team discussions to support you with your cases.
• Begin to develop relationships with our partner agencies through joint work of cases within the team to enhance your learning
• Attend safeguarding supervision.
• The applicant should have access to transport due to the requirement to travel around venues across the local area.
