Grade 7 Salary Scale: £39,105 - 45,163
Grade 8 Salary Scale: £46,485 – 55,295
Salary on appointment will be dependent upon experience.
Candidates with limited or no prior experience as an academic will be placed on the first point of the Grade 7 scale. Consideration will be given to offering an Academic Attraction Payment (adjusted annually) for those candidates who have specific industry knowledge, skills or, expertise which are required for the position.

Job Description
RESPONSIBLE TO: Principal Lecturer for Diagnostic Radiography
PURPOSE OF THE POST: Contributes to the delivery and development of the School's portfolio of courses and research activities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Carries out designated teaching and assessment duties and contributes to the School's portfolio of Radiography and multi-professional courses.
Develops and prepares teaching, learning, assessment, and feedback material including e-learning materials.
Provides pastoral care and support for students.
Provides a link tutor role to students and practice educators for a range of practice placement sites.
Participates in the training and support of practice educators for a range of practice placement sites.
Supervises undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
Contributes to the development of the School's portfolio of courses and research activities.
Undertakes appropriate administrative responsibilities including identified coordinating roles within the course team.
Develops and maintains expertise in subject area.
Actively participates in and encourages research activities.
Participates in various marketing and recruitment activities for prospective radiography students. This may include career fairs, open days etc.
Maintains working relationships with other Schools and departments within the University, as necessary for the smooth operation and continued development of the School.
Promotes and markets the School and its courses to local, national and international clientele.
Actively participates in and contributes to relevant staff development activities.
Participates in and contributes to professional networks and organisations.
Carries out other relevant duties as requested by the Dean of School.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and Professional Memberships
Undergraduate professional qualification in Diagnostic Radiography
Evidence of CPD, particularly in relation to education
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer
Knowledge
Comprehensive, contemporary knowledge of the practice and professional elements of Diagnostic Radiography.
Understanding of relevant legislation and policy relating to UK Diagnostic Radiography practice.
Understanding of the concepts of research and application of evidence based practice.
Experience
Extensive experience of radiography clinical practice.
Experience in providing teaching, learning, assessment and feedback in either academic or clinical settings.
Experience in providing inspiration and pastoral support to students.
Other
The role may require travel to a range of practice placement centres including remote and rural sites.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and Professional Memberships
Postgraduate qualification in a relevant radiography subject area
Member of the Society and College of Radiographers
Knowledge
Extensive post qualification experience in an area of specialist imaging.
Experience
Experience in providing teaching, learning, assessment and feedback in either academic or clinical settings using a variety of media
Experience of participation in teams that produce research output
Proven experience in using self-management skills, networking and initiative in a range of challenging situations/environments.
