This role is varied and draws on a diverse range of transferrable and technical skills. You can expect to be involved in:
• Managing and delivering work programmes to enhance and expand on our service capabilities.
• Delivering excellent customer service through the provision of engagement, technical expertise, and teamwork.
• Monitoring the performance of our services, ensuring that risks are managed to minimise the impact to our customers.
• Working with other teams and stakeholders to investigate and develop solutions.
• Implementing and maintaining design specifications, documentation, standards, and resources for our services.
• Identifying opportunities to drive continuous improvements to ensure our services are lean, efficient, effective, and sustainable.
• Supporting the growth of the team, by keeping abreast of market and industry trends, and sharing knowledge and experience with the rest of the team.
The team
The Data Integration Team provide a national support service for data integration across the Environment Agency. As the central hub for data integration, we help various teams (spokes) fulfil their project needs by integrating data into systems throughout the organisation using FME Flow. The team play a critical role as an advisor, specialist and championing best practice.
Experience/skills required
Essential
• Experience using Safe Software’s FME Form & FME Flow.
• Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and data integration techniques.
• Experience using Structured Query Language (SQL).
• Strong project design and delivery skills, from planning to implementation.
• Experience in defining and implementing data governance frameworks for the entire data integration lifecycle.
• Ability to identify and lead on new opportunities.
• Exceptional delivery in a team environment.
• Working with customers to understand their needs.
• Communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable
• Experience using Azure Data Factory or other cloud-hosted data integration tools.
• Ability to integrate and automate data workflows using APIs and third-party services.
• Understanding of DevOps principles.
• Knowledge of geospatial tools such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Experience using the Microsoft Power Platform.
• Experience in line management, including mentoring and team development.
