About us
The New Forest is a unique place, famous for its remarkable wildlife, one of the largest heathlands in Europe, and some of the oldest trees in the country. It is a location of rare and stunning beauty.
But more than this, it's a place of thriving towns and villages, communities where people live, learn and work, and we're responsible for everything from open spaces, play areas and woodland to recycling, parking and emergency planning. The district's growing economy is a reflection of the ambition and hard work of the people who live here.
It's our vision to secure a vibrant and prosperous New Forest into the future, guided by the people we serve and working in partnership with others.
Our Housing Service has made giant strides forward over the last few years and now leads the way with its work on decarbonisation, new housing delivery, fire and building safety compliance, improved tenant satisfaction and engagement, support to private landlords, and innovative partnerships which support mental health and homelessness.
Our Housing Performance and Insight Team is a small team of service experts responsible for policy development, key projects, staff training, business development, performance management, and system improvements. We have a clear plan of work for the upcoming year, alongside plans for future development, as well as providing day-to-day support to our colleagues in the Housing Service.
