Summary
To undertake the BSc apprentice podiatry course. You will be responsible for the management and treatment of a caseload of patients across a variety of locations within Torbay and South Devon area, providing a comprehensive assessment of podiatric need, relevant health education, planned podiatric care packages and referral to other health care professionals as required. To ensure effective communication with patients, relatives and carersconcerning assessment outcomes, treatment options and prognosis where there may be barriers to understanding due to learning difficulties, illness and high anxiety. Ensure effective communications are maintained and developed with other health and social services professionals and podiatrists in order to promote the podiatry service. Delegate effectively and provide care plans for support staff such as clinical support workers assistant practitioners and students to follow. To review current treatments and treatment plans to ensure they fit with evidence based/ best practice, NICE guidance and national service delivery frameworks. To achieve Registration with Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC) and degree/diploma in Podiatry and local analgesia administration certificate . To work within the HCPC code of conduct, Trust policies and proceduresand adhere to the Patients Charter. To follow departmental Policies, Procedures and Guidelines but have the discretion to make own clinical diagnosis and decisions within professional boundaries. To be accountable to the Team Leader and assist and undertake duties as delegated and requested by the team leader. To attend all mandatory training sessions as required by the Trust. To ensure clinics are maintained to the highest levels and are suitable environments for treating patients. To participate in Individual Performance Review and personal development planning and fulfil CPD requirements identified through IPR.
