Key Responsibilities
Assess and manage risks to children and families through regular assessments and reviews.
Work directly with children and families to build strong, trusting relationships and support positive change.
Create and implement child protection plans, child in need plans, and care plans where necessary.
Undertake statutory visits and maintain accurate, timely case records.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including health professionals, education staff, police, and other agencies.
Participate in court proceedings, writing reports and giving evidence when required.
Use motivational interviewing techniques to engage families in addressing issues like domestic abuse, substance misuse, and mental health challenges.
Support families to access services that reduce risks and improve outcomes for children.
Attend and contribute to core groups, strategy discussions, case conferences, and review meetings.
Promote a strengths-based approach, focusing on empowering families rather than punitive measures.
Work within statutory frameworks, local policies, and best practice guidance.
Reflect and improve practice through supervision, training, and continued professional development
Essential Requirements:
Degree/Masters in Social Work and SWE registration.
2+ years of post-qualification experience.
Strong knowledge of UK social care legislation and practice.
