Summary
Corporate and Delivery Directorate works closely with the Home Office’s policy and operational commands to enable us together to deliver the department’s priorities.
The directorate is comprised of different teams and professional functions, including Commercial, Finance, People, Portfolio and Project Delivery, Security, Estates and Information and Digital, Data and Technology.
Our role in the Home Office Portfolio and Project Delivery Directorate (PPD) is to ensure that the change portfolio remains optimised, balanced and prioritised so that it contributes maximum value delivery of the Home Office (HO) objectives, through robust governance, assurance and insight and the implementation of tools and frameworks to build capability and implement standards for project delivery across the HO.
The successful candidate will support the Milestone and Planning Lead in providing the HO with the expertise to manage and oversee the change control process and delivery of complex milestone and intra programme dependencies across the Portfolio, helping to support and enable programmes to follow standards and get the basics right, whilst identifying the emerging picture and ultimately enabling successful delivery.
PPD are looking to reinvigorate the change control process across the department, ensuring programme baselines are frozen so delivery can be accurately tracked and future planning activity more realistic and achievable, supporting the department's drive to improve financial forecasting across the portfolio. A critical part of any programme plan is effective dependency management, particularly in a complex portfolio environment. The successful candidate will champion the change control process, ensuring standards are met in addition to managing portfolio level milestones and dependencies, building strong interdepartmental relationships to mitigate and prevent risks to delivery.
