Summary
Act as first point of contact for innovation queries and the day-to-day co-ordination of innovation projects across the Trust, including supporting the activities related to the delivery of the Trust innovation strategy. Assess ideas disclosed to the Trust by following existing innovation pipeline processes which the post-holder will be expected to continually develop and improve. Develop and use specialist knowledge and experience around innovation management, design theory and commercialisation to progress projects from a range of clinical and non-clinical areas appropriately and choose how best to progress each project by analysing various options. Liaise with clinical colleagues around the suitability of ideas and progression into a commercialised product or implemented change. Liaise with suppliers to understand their ability to support product development, or to fully understand their solution. Create bespoke project plans for each project, play a key role in the day-to-day coordination of activities relating to these projects. This could involve daily communication across the project partners and the supervision of project activities to ensure documentation is generated, collated and filed, and report against progress. Follow organisation policy and governance processes for each project, seeking advice from the Innovation Lead where needed. Undertake research and evaluation related to the development of new technologies, which includes desk research on existing products/services and the generation of new data within focus groups and via questionnaires.
