Summary
POSTS AVAILABLE We are advertising for a number of Senior Fellows within the department of plastic surgery. Fellowships can be tailored to the specific training needs and interests of the applicant and can include; Upper limb (Major nerve, congenital hand, adult hand, trauma) Upper limb transplant Head and Neck Breast Micro Sarcoma and Lower Limb Skin Oncology Jobs are available from August 2025 and are offered on an initial 6 months basis, with the possibility to extend on mutual agreement. DUTIES OF THE POST This Senior Fellow position within the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgery will be tailored to an individuals training requirement, but provides high volume subspeciality training in reconstructive surgery. The routine work includes care of patients in the Leeds General Infirmary, attendance at theatre lists and out-patient clinics where areas of need for particular sub specialisation will be addressed with his supervising consultant. These will need to be clearly defined from the outset by the successful candidate. The post is full time. It is expected that the successful candidate will be an experienced trainee in Plastic Surgery or an accredited Plastic Surgeon eligible to take a Consultant post either in the United Kingdom or overseas, with FRCS(Plast) or equivalent. The appointee will therefore be expected to have appropriate skills in the areas of plastic surgery and be prepared to develop them fully during the course of the Fellowship. The fellow will be expected to attend and contribute to the teaching programme and departmental audit meetings. Duties are mainly located at the Leeds General Infirmary and on occasions at St. James's University Hospital and Chapel Allerton Hospital. Travelling allowances are payable for peripheral clinics and to any cross city referrals which need review.
