Summary
South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLAM) are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, substantive Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Low Intensity Psychiatric service (LIST) in the London Borough of Lewisham. This is currently being advertised as a 7 PA fixed term role for a period of 3 months.
If you are looking for a clinical role within an established community mental health team, with opportunities to work closely with Primary care partners and lead on further service development and incorporating quality improvement methodology to evaluate changes, then this is the ideal post for you.

The main duty of the post holder is to carry out regular medical reviews for the patients on the case load. Usually, you would be expected to see your patients once every 12 months. However, if patients are getting unwell or there are other concerns raised by the MDT or family, then we would expect the post holder to consider seeing the patient sooner.
You will be responsible for the day to day management of patients in the team. Medical reviews should include detailed reviews of patient’s physical health, medication , alcohol and drug use and their overall levels of functioning. Also, a review of their risk assessment and care plan.

To Provide Clinical Leadership and Consultant input into Lewisham LIST
To take consultant responsibility for LIST Team patients, assessing or supervising assessment of patients and devising or helping to devise appropriate treatment plans and medication regimes and providing prompt medical response for those patients under your direct care and advise and work closely with other members of the multidisciplinaryteam.
To provide Responsible Clinician responsibilities under the MHA , if needed.
To undertake responsibilities as a Psychiatrist approved under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act 1983 as needed
To provide reciprocal cover under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act for the leave, study leave and sickness of senior medicalstaff
