Summary
Royal London Hospital is looking to recruit a Healthcare Support Worker (HCA) Band 3 who will work in the pilot Sickle Cell Ambulatory Care Unit at Royal London. This post is open to individuals who are experienced Healthcare Support Workers.
We are looking for compassionate and motivated individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a hospital setting. The role involves undertaking a range of delegated tasks, such as:
Patient observations (e.g., monitoring vital signs)
Assisting with personal care and mobility
Supporting patients’ nutritional and hydration needs
Undertaking limited range of delegated duties (e.g. taking blood pressure, recording ECG, MRSA screening)
Simple wound dressings
Strong teamworking and communication skills are essential to ensure the comfort, wellbeing, and safety of our patients.
Entering or updating details on the electronic patient record system
An excellent communicator, they have experience of working in a team, to ensure the comfort, wellbeing and safety of our patients. They will also need to be computer literate and support efficient and effective administrative support to the service.
The post holder will work within the new ambulatory care and triage team helping to maintain and deliver a high-class Sickle Cell service at the Royal London Hospital. The post holders will support the development and delivery of a high quality sickle cell service across the Trust.
The post holder will be an integral part of the nursing team actively taking part in meeting the needs of patients and of the service in accordance with agreed standards under direct supervision of the registered nurse. The post holder will continue to develop essential competencies though training and practice to ensure safety and quality are the priority
