Description
We are seeking an experienced Independent Social Worker to join our dedicated team as a Form F Assessor at Grade 8. This role is crucial in the assessment of prospective foster carers and adopters, playing a vital part in ensuring that children are placed in safe and nurturing environments. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of fostering and adoption processes, as well as a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, using the Form F framework, to evaluate the suitability of applicants to provide foster or adoptive care. You will utilize your social work expertise to explore personal histories, motivations, and capabilities, whilst engaging closely with families and collaborating with other professionals. This position requires not only exceptional analytical and communication skills but also empathy and resilience, as you will be supporting families during often sensitive and emotional processes. Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive Form F assessments for prospective foster carers and adopters.
Evaluate applicants' personal histories, motivations, and capacity for fostering or adopting.
Compile detailed assessment reports, providing objective recommendations.
Engage with children, families, and relevant professionals throughout the assessment process.
Facilitate meetings and discussions to gather information and insights about applicants.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
Participate in training and development sessions to enhance assessment skills and knowledge.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker registered with the relevant professional body.
Proven experience in child protection, fostering, and adoption services.
Strong understanding of the fostering and adoption legislation and frameworks.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to conduct sensitive interviews and build rapport with diverse families.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to manage time effectively and work independently to meet deadlines.
