We help build this community into a source of mutual support, strengthening relationships to aid delivery of the Government’s missions and developing a shared understanding of the most important issues of the day.
We convene a variety of activities, including in-person gatherings and virtual events. In-person events often involve a mixture of public service - or private sector - visits, group activities, and all-important networking time. Virtual events include webinars and calls on high priorities.
These events explore priority policy areas by improving ways of working across government, focusing on outcomes and enabling collaboration with key partners. We do this while also tackling big, cross-cutting issues, both international and domestic, that impact our work around the world.
You will be one of our Community Specialists responsible for supporting our communications and the delivery of our events programme. You will also be responsible for evaluating our impact, and ensuring there is a link between the social capital we create during our interventions and improved outcomes for UK citizens.
This will require you to work alongside partners, both within and outside of the Cabinet Office, to communicate our successes across government.
Due to the variety of locations we deliver in person events the role will require a significant amount of travel, including overnight stays, usually around once a month.
This role undertakes the design and delivery of projects and events for the Cabinet Secretary and the top of the Civil Service.
Responsibilities include:
- While the role has a core set of responsibilities, we encourage team members to flex among the team and shape together as much of the what we do as how we do it
- Designing impactful events for the Civil Service’s most senior audiences with guidance from team leaders and other stakeholders
- Building and drawing on a deep understanding of the CSLG community to enable everyone to work better together
- Support the delivery of activities including developing materials, agendas, and briefings
- Conduct or commission thematic research for specific events, identifying interesting points of discussion and contributors, and completing due diligence
- Presenting the findings of your research campaigns and wider evidence into impactful reports designed for senior audiences
- Drive innovation in the team’s activity, collating and sharing new products and approaches across Government Skills
- Contributing to efficient inbox management of the shared mailbox on a rota with other team members
- Engage with a specific cluster of departments, forming deep relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, seeking opportunities to connect communities and developing insights to inform our design and delivery.
