A vibrant two-form entry primary school located in Hackney, N1, is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with Challenging Behaviour and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). This full-time position starts ASAP and extends through the next academic year, ending in July 2026.
Job Description
We are looking for an energetic, creative, and motivational SEN teaching assistant who can inspire and support pupils in their care. The ideal candidate will have experience dealing with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Challenging Behaviour, along with a solid understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum. Foster effective communication with students, parents, and staff to enhance educational outcomes.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
Experience with Challenging Behaviour
Strong Behaviour Management Skills
Team Teach training (highly desirable but not essential)
Dedication and passion for education
Additional requirements:
o References confirming suitability for role
o Commitment to Safeguarding
o Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
o Eligibility to work in the UK
Benefits
- Support from dedicated and knowledgeable specialist consultants
- Continual professional development through online training
