Summary
Senior Assistant Psychologist post offering an enhanced level of autonomy and responsibility and an expectation to work alongside members of the multidisciplinary team within agreed competencies and limits.
Responsible for supporting and enhancing the psychological care of service users with complex mental health and behavioural needs. Providing psychological assessment, formulation and intervention under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist. The Senior Assistant Psychologist will work independently on a day-to-day basis according to a job plan agreed with the Head of Therapies and Senior/Consultant Clinical Psychologist.
Responsible for clinically related administration tasks, the conduct of audits, collection of statistics for the development of audit, and service evaluation. Expected to produce reports and other documents under the supervision of the clinical psychologist as required for the care of service users and evaluation of the service. Engage in research related activities including devising and conducting research projects and assisting in the perpetration of findings for publication purposes.
Providing support for the development, delivery and evaluation of staff training initiatives.
Working within the overall framework of organisational policies and procedures. The post-holder must understand and implement the mission, vision and values of the organisation.
