Apostolic Church - for a Minister of Religion as a Youth Minister.
Job Description
We are seeking an individual who would create a fun, stimulating safe environment
and build a community where youths will meet to engage with each other and have
fun in an atmosphere where they can also invite others. The aim is to transform lives,
equip them for effective service, encourage them to grow spiritually and reach out to
others, while serving as a spiritual leader and role model to the youths
The candidate should be ‘born again’ Holy Spirit-filled and heaven-focused Christian
Believer who must have gone through Church Workers’ training process. They must
have a working experience in the Christian ministry. They must have a personal and
active relationship with the Holy Spirit; including a commitment to personal prayer
life, bible study and worship.
You will be familiar with and be ready to practise, the tenets of the Christ Apostolic
Church Worldwide. Evidence of training and on-going spiritual development will be
required while experience of counselling, leading of bible studies/prayer meetings
and Evangelism will be added advantage.
Responsibilities
Your duties will include but not limited to Preaching, Leading worship as a Youth Minister and teaching the word of God
Devising, establishing, developing, and overseeing a mentoring programme
and meetings with young people to provide support, study the bible and pray.
Identify and develop the gifts and talents of the young people and volunteers,
and encourage active participation in church life, including Youth led services.
Create an environment for youths to grow spiritually and create relevant
activities for youth to attend.
Preparation of teaching material, resources for lessons and the delivery of the
lessons.
Encourage the youth to take up serving opportunities in the church and the
community as a means of service to the Lord, training for future careers and
potential experience gained.
To provide Pastoral Care for Youth and do other duties as assigned by the
Pastorate.
Candidate – Skills, Experience & Qualification
Commitment to the church's vision, leadership, and people and willingness to
become a member of the Church.
Experience of leading youth and young people as well as organising relevant
activities for Youths.
Awareness of youth and culture and issues facing young people.
The ability to be empathetic and build trusting relationships with young people
Able to maintain confidentiality in all situations
Strong administrative and leadership skills.
Excellent communication skills, listening skills and organisational abilities
The ability to relate to young people from a wide variety of background
Respect for equal opportunities and a non-judgemental attitude
10. Sets a good example of personal spiritual and family life.
Desirable Criteria
A deep knowledge and understanding of the tenets of Christ Apostolic Church
Worldwide
Must be able to communicate effectively in English Language, Yoruba (Preferred)
