Chef (Care Home)
Hours: 38 hours per week
Salary: £25,400
The care home is seeking a compassionate and skilled Chef to join their team. The Chef will have the responsibility of preparing nutritionally balanced and appetising meals for elderly residents.
The home offers residential care, day care and respite for older adults. Some of which will require a modified texture diet.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working in a professional kitchen, especially in a care home setting.
- Ideally working towards a Level 2 Diploma in Food Production and Cooking or equivalent, though not essential.
- Familiarity with catering for specialist diets and providing meals for large groups of people.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Knowledge or training in texture modification diets is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking meals for a large number of residents, considering individual dietary requirements and specialist diets.
- Ensuring that meals are presented and served in an appetising and attractive manner.
- Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborating with the care team to create menus that are both nutritious and enjoyable for the residents.
- Monitoring and managing kitchen inventory, placing orders for supplies as required.
