Summary

As a CME Officer within our Inclusion Support Service, you’ll play a key role in identifying and supporting Children Missing Education (CME). Collaborating with partner agencies, you’ll ensure these children have access to appropriate educational opportunities. Every child deserves a quality, full-time education suitable for their age, abilities, and any special educational needs. Without intervention, CME are at risk of underachieving, facing harm, exploitation, or radicalisation, and potentially becoming NEET (not in education, employment, or training) later in life.

What you’ll be doing:
• Leading a small team, overseeing CME procedures in line with statutory frameworks and local policies.
• Recording and investigating instances of Children Missing Education.
• Providing advice and guidance to schools, parents and agencies.
• Reviewing complex queries and liaising with partner agencies to ensure suitable access to education for all located CME.
• Preparing and presenting detailed reports and analyses.

• Extensive administrative experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
• Commitment to confidentiality, with the ability to handle highly sensitive information.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing demands whilst retaining accuracy.
• Commitment to demonstrating our values and behaviours, showing compassion, empathy and respect.
• Experience of working within a school environment would be a plus.
