Summary

Teaching Assistant Level 2 + SEN

Hours 30 term time only

Grade D / SCP 6-11 £25,183 - £27,269 per annum pro-rata +SEN Allowance

Actual Salary £17,073 - £18,487 per annum



(12 months Fixed Term 1st September 2025 to 31st August 2026)


Eagley Junior School is a happy and welcoming two-form entry Junior School in Bromley Cross, Bolton. We have an opportunity for a caring and supportive individual to join our team of Teaching Assistants as a SEN Teaching Assistant.

You will work with teachers to support teaching and learning, providing specialist support to the teacher in an aspect of the curriculum or age range, for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a love of learning in their pupils, demonstrating creativity and enthusiasm in their approach.

We are looking for someone who:


  • Have a level 2 qualification (or equivalent)
  • Have knowledge and procedures for supporting and leading learning activities in SEN
  • Have successful relevant experience of working with children
  • Are able to devise and implement structured learning activities, under the direction of the teacher, and be able to evaluate their effectiveness and measure pupils’ progress, giving feedback as required.
  • Thrives off nurturing and developing children and is positive, approachable and caring
  • Champions our character virtues of kindness, curiosity, honesty, positivity, gratitude and bravery in all that they do
  • Has consistently high expectations of all children’s learning and behaviour
  • Has high expectations of themselves and works hard, both in and out of the classroom
  • Works efficiently, can prioritise their time and meet deadlines
  • Is accurate, has attention to detail and good subject knowledge
  • Is self-reflective and able to respond positively to feedback
  • Can form and maintain mutually respectful working relationships
  • Is enthusiastic, professional and friendly
  • Is able to communicate clearly and has a good sense of humour
