Summary

Salary: Outer London Pay Spine 4/5 - Pro Rata to £25,123.81 - £28,197.07 (FTE £29,340 - £32,929)
Location: Bedelsford Chaucer Centre, Canterbury Road, Morden SM4 6PX
Working Pattern: - Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8.30am – 4pm, Tuesday and Thursday 8.30am – 4.30pm Term time only , 36 hours per week.

The Department for Education (DfE) granted permission for Bedelsford School to open a temporary satellite site for children with special education needs in the London Borough of Merton in September 2025. Bedelsford Chaucer Centre will have capacity for 40 places in the first year with the potential to increase up to 80 children over a three-year period. The provision will be for children who have a range of moderate to severe learning difficulties and complex needs. This is likely to include Speech Language and Communication Needs and may also include Autism Spectrum Conditions and other associated areas of need.
The DfE has also given approval for OHCAT to open a brand new purpose-built Free School in Merton and the aim is that pupils and staff will transfer across to the new Free School when it is completed.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic School Administrator/Receptionist & EHCP Coordinator to join the team at our new satellite site. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth running of the school’s administrative functions and support the coordination of Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes. This role will be key in providing vital support to students, staff, and families, helping to maintain a welcoming environment and efficient administrative systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors, managing reception duties
• Coordinate EHCP annual reviews by scheduling meetings, writing minutes, and sending documentation to the Local Authority to ensure the review process runs smoothly
• Oversee staff cover, including return-to-work procedures
• Manage admissions arrangements, census reporting, and liaise with Bedelsford’s main site for seamless communication
• Provide general administrative support, including maintaining records, organising meetings, and assisting with other school communication tasks
Key Requirements:
• Experience in school administration or as a receptionist (special educational needs setting is a plus)
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and school management software
• Experience with EHCP coordination and school census reporting is desirable
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
