About the Role
As the Offshore Substation Platform Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of offshore substation construction, installation, and commissioning activities. This is a hands-on role where you will oversee fabrication, welding, coatings, electrical, and mechanical installations, ensuring adherence to industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of offshore substation structures, including steel fabrication, welding, coatings, and mechanical/electrical components.
- Monitor offshore platform assembly, integration, and installation processes to ensure proper execution.
- Identify and document non-conformances, defects, and deviations from specifications, and coordinate with the team to implement corrective actions.
- Enforce offshore safety protocols and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and work closely with project engineers, quality managers, and contractors to resolve any issues.
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this Offshore Substation Platform Inspector role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in offshore wind, oil & gas, or marine construction inspection.
- Strong background in welding, coatings, mechanical, and electrical inspections for offshore structures.
- Familiarity with offshore substation components, including transformers, switchgear, and HVAC systems.
- BOSIET / GWO (Offshore Survival Training) certification is mandatory.
- Excellent reporting and documentation skills, as well as strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
