Summary


We are pleased to offer a Senior Clinical Fellow Radiology full-time at NBT. The successful candidate will join the team of 24 Diagnostic Radiology Consultants providing imaging for patients.

The Body radiology team at NBT supports multiple adult specialist MDTs, as part of the tertiary services provided at the Trust. North Bristol NHS Trust also provides a comprehensive 24/7 on call service and is a Level 1 Major Trauma Centre. The post-holder is also expected to provide cover for acute imaging both in and out-of-hours under the supervision of the consultant body.

Applicants are required to hold the FRCR and hold a CCT or equivalent in Clinical Radiology. Full GMC Registration and passed the OET, both are essential.

The candidate will need to have experience in all forms of general diagnostic imaging. Duties will include taking a shared responsibility for the day to day running of the radiology department and supporting the radiographers and radiology trainees. The candidate will contribute to general body imaging work including the acute / trauma service and thus being proficient in general emergency and trauma imaging for daytime and on call is a requirement. Consultant support will be provided for the tertiary/specialist elements of the on call service.

The Senior Clinical Fellowship Post aims to provide the successful candidate with an excellent educational environment to develop their imaging, clinical and communication skills to support them in applying for a future NHS consultant position.

The post will be based at North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT) Southmead Hospital and ancillary sites. The successful applicant will join the team which is integrated in a friendly and welcoming radiology department consisting of 61 consultants. The department provides training for over 20 radiology registrars, neuroradiology and Interventional Radiology fellows with plenty of teaching opportunities.

This post is not recognised for training by the Specialist Advisory Committee in Radiology and do not have postgraduate deanery approval. Candidates must have, or be eligible for, GMC registration that allows them to work in posts that are not recognised for training. It is desirable that candidates have experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices or equivalent.
