Basic DBS disclosure required
Skills & Experience:
Strong understanding of relevant housing legislation, particularly in relation to asylum and immigration.
Proven experience in housing options, homelessness prevention, or asylum support services.
Excellent case management skills with the ability to handle sensitive and complex cases.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality service.
What's involved with this role: Join the Housing Options team as a Senior Asylum & Review Housing Options Officer. This temporary role offers the chance to make a real impact by managing complex cases, conducting reviews, and providing expert housing advice to vulnerable individuals.
Key duties:
Assess and review housing options for asylum seekers and vulnerable residents, ensuring compliance with council policies.
Manage complex cases, providing guidance on housing rights, homelessness prevention, and support pathways.
Conduct reviews of housing decisions to ensure legal compliance.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to provide comprehensive support.
Attend the office once or twice a week, with flexibility for remote work.
