Summary

Adoption Service Therapist - Western Bay Adoption Service
Job description
18.5 hours per week

Fixed term until the 31 March 2026.

An opportunity has arisen for a part time Therapist (18.5hrs) post within the Western Bay Adoption Service.

Since the creation of the service in April 2015, the region has been continuously improving, moving in the right direction and we have achieved an increase in the number of adoptive placements and reduced the time we take to place children. You will join a group of committed and enthusiastic professionals who are working hard to transform our services. We have invested further in and reconfigured our adoption support services with an exciting and challenging agenda to deliver.

We are particularly looking for a therapist who has experience in working with children, adolescents and families and who is keen to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will be required to provide a direct therapeutic intervention to children and young people who have been adopted and for adoptive families who may need support to manage children who have experienced significant trauma. An element of this role will also include facilitating Trauma Nurture Timelines to inform the matching process and support adopters to understand children's potential needs going forward.
