Summary
In the capacity of a Mental Health Nurse, your primary responsibility will be to provide person-centred care to individuals seeking support on their journey towards community integration. Our care pathway is consistently evolving, and as such, we utilise the most effective outcome measures and assessment tools available. Your role will involve providing quality, evidence-based nursing advice, support, and care to individuals with complex, severe, and enduring mental health needs, as well as their caregivers, in a multidisciplinary setting. We provide additional training to our nurses to complete early warning signs and relapse prevention work with patients, as well as training in the assessment suite, which is used as part of the CPA reviews. The service also provides positive behaviour support training to help support those individuals who may present with behaviour that challenges their pathway to recovery. To be successful in this role, you will need to establish therapeutic relationships with service users and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions within appropriate boundaries, as outlined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code. You will be responsible for overseeing the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care within agreed parameters and have a comprehensive understanding of local and national policies and legislation that govern service provision.
