Summary
Join us as an Advisory Portfolio Manager
- We’ll look to you to provide a high-quality investment management service and advice to our clients, ensuring the highest level of service and regulatory discipline at all times
- You’ll actively discuss the Coutts investment house view and tactical investment ideas to a book of advisory investment clients, as well as prospective investment clients
- Your varied remit will cover all aspects of on-going client servicing and individual investment advice for our clients, in line with our advisory principles
- You'll work from home some of the time, but you'll also spend at least two days a week working in the office
What you'll do
As an Advisory Portfolio Manager, you’ll be responsible for winning new, and retaining existing criteria clients, in line with Coutts investment philosophy and policies. You’ll present the Coutts investment house view and strategy at internal client events, and you’ll ensure trades you have suggested meet client expectations. You’ll also be accountable for the delivery of assigned business opportunities, delivering alongside Wealth Managers in the sale of suitable investment products and services.
As well as this, you’ll be responsible for:
- The safe and effective delivery of client investment proposal, fully incorporating any client-imposed investment restrictions in line with relevant policies
- Maintaining and developing knowledge of relevant investment management techniques, disciplines, and skillsets in order to provide appropriate service to both internal and external clients
- Supporting the wider team with the delivery of any tactical business initiatives with the view to improving client outcomes of expediting the delivery of assigned business objectives
- Adhering to the bank’s controls around advisory portfolio management, and escalating any risk issues in line with procedures
- Obtaining new client relationships, particularly through supporting colleagues in the sale of discretionary and advisory investment services and products
The skills you'll need
We’re looking for someone with knowledge of relevant financial markets and instruments, and a solid grasp of discretionary portfolio management techniques. Along with astute attention to detail, you’ll have excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
In addition to this, you’ll demonstrate:
- Experience of engaging with private clients at various levels of investment sophistication
- The necessary qualifications and prerequisites for local regulatory authorisation
