RED Wilson Associates are looking to employ a Traffic Design Technician to join our growing team. You will complete a thorough and varied training programme in order to provide excellent exposure to our industry which will enable you to develop your career in the traffic engineering sector.
Job Role:
The role would be to work within our Design and Modelling Team, supporting the output of consultancy services for our diverse client base. This could include;
• Participating in feasibility studies to investigate physical changes to the highway network that encourage sustainable modes of travel;
• Traffic modelling to understand the impact of new proposals;
• Producing technical drawings for construction activities;
• Attending site and collecting data;
• Specifying and analysing survey data aimed at solving specific transport issues;
• Assisting in report writing and presenting your findings both internally and to our external clients; and
• Working collaboratively with others as part of a team.
This is a 40-hour a week full time role, with occasional out of hours site work.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
Must be 18 years old and over.
Must be able to commute to our office in Central London.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
GCSE Grades in English and Maths (Levels 6-9 or B-A*) or further education and or experience in an engineering discipline. We welcome applicants who are currently completing a relevant college course however this is not compulsory.
Desirable:
Experience in using AutoCAD.
Experience in working previously on transport schemes.
Prior site investigation experience.
Demonstrate an understanding and show technical competence in traffic signal operation.
