Summary

Private Office is one of the most dynamic teams in DCMS, involved in all aspects of departmental business. In this, role you be a trusted adviser to the Secretary of State, and work across the Department to drive delivery of her priorities on Youth and Civil Society.

As a team, we are here to help our Ministers and senior officials deliver their priorities, and to support the Department in working with them.

The Secretary of State, Rt Hon Lisa Nandy MP, has overall policy responsibility for all DCMS areas. She is supported by a team of three ministers:

  • Minister of State, Chris Bryant MP
  • Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, Stephanie Peacock MP
  • Lords Minister, Baroness Twycross

Private Office is part of the wider Corporate Strategy Directorate.

We are here to help our Ministers and senior officials deliver their priorities, and to support the department in working with them. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of DCMS and directly with the Secretary of State on a number of her priorities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working across DCMS, with No. 10 and across Whitehall to drive delivery of the Secretary of State’s priorities in the Civil Society and Youth policy.
  • Building strong relationships with Special Advisers and officials across your policy portfolio to shape a pipeline of high quality advice to the Secretary of State on her priorities in your areas.
  • Play a significant leadership role in the Private Office, working with the team to ensure the Secretary of State receives an excellent service across the office.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working at pace and under pressure as part of a high-performing team.
