We are currently seeking a Mechanical Tendering Engineer to join our expanding client’s team based in Halesowen, West Midlands. This growing and dynamic company are looking for a Mechanical Tendering Engineer who will prepare technically compliant and competitive mechanical tenders.

The roles and responsibilities of a Mechanical Tendering Engineer:

• To produce for successful bids for completed tender take-offs and prepare a summary of material costs and labour hours/costs from the TAP for use in the evaluation of project performance.
• To liaise with customer to obtain all data required to provide a complete and compliant offer.
• To prepare technically compliant and competitive tenders
• To ensure tenders are completed within prescribed time parameters
• To obtain and evaluate, both commercially and technically, quotations for all subcontract / bought-in items.
• To attend site as necessary to view the proposed works.
• To produce a financial estimate for tenders using the Tender Approval Procedure sheet (TAP) and obtain required authorisations prior to submittal of tender.
• Represent the company at post tender meetings with the client as required.
• Attend project launch meeting and inform project team of all pre award data.
• Observe company rules and procedures and keep informed on company policy.
• To review and evaluate accuracy of bids against actual costs in liaison with the projects team for successful bids.

Requirements of the Mechanical Tendering Engineer:

• 5 years’ experience within mechanical engineering
• Experience within the water industry
• Able to read and work with P&ID Drawings and take material lists from GA Drawings
• Worked with large diameter mechanical pipework (carbon steel and stainless steel)
• Fabrication and installation works
• Various coatings experience
