Summary

We are recruiting an Advisor to be part of a team at the heart of the organisation, responsible for ensuring that we have the right tools and enablers in place to build organisational capability.

This role is delivery focused, working in partnership with others to deliver outcomes that underpin delivery of our corporate strategy, EA2025 and beyond. You will focus predominantly on ensuring that our Learning Management System ‘Learning Zone’ supports the business needs and integrates effectively with other developing systems and products.

You will work collaboratively across local and national Environment Agency teams, subject matter experts, Defra Group HR professionals, Defra Learning & Development and third-party suppliers to:

- shape, coordinate, and deliver activities that drive sustainable improvements in the systems and processes that help capability development.
- gather and evaluate insights to influence a broad range of partners to drive and implement change.
- ensure Learning Zone delivers expected benefits through implementation of system functionality
- track benefits and assure delivery of organisation-wide improvements to our learning and development offer.

As part of a wider agile team, you may be asked to lend your skills to delivery of other People Strategy priorities.

The team

People and Inclusion is a delivery focused team within Strategy Transformation and Assurance, delivering effective services for our customers and people to enable more sustainable EA2025 outcomes.

This role is within the Leadership and Capability team focused on delivering the People Strategy (see attached information), in particular the objective ‘investing in your capability and growth’. The role will be aligned to the work stream Learning Systems and Assurance and particularly focused on Learning Zone.

Experience/skills required

Essential

Working collaboratively with the ability to influence others to deliver business outcomes.

Project Management skills and experience - planning and delivering work packages with others to quality, time and budget.

Building effective relationships with a diverse range of internal and external partners

Experience of working in a learning and development environment

Working knowledge of learning management systems

Proven track record in delivering outcomes to large numbers of people in a complex environment

Excellent communication skills with the ability to plan and engage effectively with varied audiences at all levels across the organisation

Analysing complex issues and information to identify opportunities and risks and enable effective mitigation and risk management.

Independent problem solving and effective decision making, with the ability to self-start and lead others.

Desirable

Management and supervision of other team members (full training and support will be available)

Knowledge of the business of the Environment Agency
