Summary

At Lasered Components, we are looking for a Junior CAD Designer to join our CAD Team, working methodically through 2D and 3D requests for technical drawings of metal components for our internal Sales department and customers directly.

Main accountabilities
• Utilise AutoCAD and SolidWorks software to create 2D and 3D technical drawings and designs as per project requirements.
• Reverse engineer 2D drawings into 3D files accurately, taking into consideration bend deductions, allowances, the material, and thicknesses based on our press brake machinery capabilities.
• Ensure that customers are advised where we may need to adjust drawings or ensure that they provide the relevant dimensions for the drawing service.
• Interpret and comprehend engineering and architectural sketches, blueprints, PDFs, and specifications provided by customers and internally.
• Ensure that drawings and designs comply with all relevant standards and customer requirements.
• Revise and modify existing drawings and designs as directed by the project team.
• Stay informed about the latest advancements and updates in AutoCAD and SolidWorks software.
• Documenting processes and work effectively using a range of resources, including but not limited to, Adobe Acrobat, Nuclino, MS packages, SIGMA and our MRP systems.
• Aid various departments in supporting the operational business needs and provide with regular updates on progress.

Requirements
• Proven experience working as a Junior CAD Designer, preferably in an engineering or architectural firm.
• Proficiency in using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, or similar software.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and ability to convert conceptual ideas into technical drawings via excellent communication.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and error-free drawings.
• Maintain a prioritised and organised workflow.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and best or common practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to overcome design challenges.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
• Customer service oriented.
