Job Title: Security Engineer (Zero Trust Networks)
Location: Hybrid (Primarily work from home, travel to London one-two days/ week)
Contract Details: • Type: Permanent Role • Salary: Up to £65,000/year (dependent on experience)
About Us: Technology Consulting Services (TCS) is an innovative consultancy providing cutting-edge technology solutions to a growing client base. We specialize in cybersecurity, cloud computing, and digital transformation, ensuring businesses remain secure in an ever-evolving threat landscape. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a Security Engineer specializing in designing Zero Trust networks to enhance our security capabilities and help safeguard critical systems and data.
The Opportunity: This role offers an exciting opportunity to focus on the hands-on implementation, configuration, and optimization of Zero Trust security solutions across complex enterprise environments.
As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for: • Developing and configuring Zero Trust network security controls. • Implementing security tools to enhance identity, access, and data protection. • Collaborating with IT teams to deploy security solutions into enterprise environments. • Optimizing and automating security processes to improve efficiency.
This hybrid role requires candidates to work remotely, with travel to London two days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Security Engineering & Implementation: • Implement and configure Zero Trust security frameworks, including identity-centric security controls. • Deploy and enforce security policies aligned with Zero Trust principles. • Optimize and fine-tune security tools for continuous threat monitoring and protection. • Conduct hands-on security solution deployment and integration into existing systems.
- Identity & Access Management (IAM): • Configure and maintain identity and access control mechanisms. • Implement multi-factor authentication (MFA), least privilege access, and micro-segmentation. • Support IAM teams in integrating security solutions within cloud and on-prem environments.
- Network Security & Micro-Segmentation: • Implement network segmentation strategies to limit lateral movement within enterprise environments. • Deploy and configure network security controls, including software-defined perimeters and secure access service edge (SASE) solutions. • Configure and manage security tools for continuous monitoring and threat detection.
- Cloud Security & Secure Access: • Implement cloud security measures aligned with Zero Trust frameworks for Azure and hybrid environments. • Deploy and maintain secure remote access solutions. • Ensure security controls are correctly integrated across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments.
- Security Operations & Risk Mitigation: • Support security assessments to identify and remediate vulnerabilities. • Assist in security incident investigations and response activities. • Work with IT teams to implement security patches and updates. • Provide input into security control enhancements and compliance measures.
- Automation & Process Optimization: • Develop automation scripts for security processes and configurations. • Use scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Python, KQL) to improve security monitoring and response capabilities. • Support DevSecOps initiatives to embed security in development pipelines.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Must have 3+ years implementing and configuring Zero Trust architecture.
- Strong hands-on experience in security engineering and network security.
- Proficiency in configuring identity and access management (IAM), including MFA and privilege management.
- Experience with network security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, and micro-segmentation.
- Expertise in implementing cloud security controls in Azure and hybrid environments.
- Familiarity with security compliance standards (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, etc.).
- Experience with security operations, incident response, and vulnerability management.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python, or KQL).
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- CCNP Security, Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Expert.
- Azure Security Engineer, or similar cloud security certifications.
- Experience with Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions (Zscaler, Prisma, NetSkope for example).
- Experience with security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) tools.
Understanding of penetration testing and ethical hacking methodologies.
What We Offer:
• A competitive salary of up to £65,000/year (dependent on experience). • Flexible hybrid working arrangements, allowing work-from-home with weekly office collaboration. • Opportunities to work on cutting-edge security projects in Zero Trust architectures. • Professional development and certification support. • Collaborative and innovative work environment with a focus on security excellence.
