We are recruiting on behalf of an industry leading company in the recycling and sustainability industry. Our client are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their team.

The role

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance of fixed plant and production machinery on a large metal recycling site, ensuring that machinery is maintained to high standards and delays to production are minimised.

  • £18.57 per hour
  • 45 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday, 2pm - 12am
  • Overtime rates available

Key accountabilities

  • Respond and assist in the correction of plant breakdowns
  • Responsible for repairs and maintenance of plant machinery, facilities, tooling, and equipment
  • Support with continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency of equipment
  • Provide technical support to site personnel where required
  • Ensure compliance with HSE and internal policies at all times

Skills & experience

Essential

  • Mechanical, welding, and fabrication skills
  • Knowledge of site-based health and safety procedures
  • Knowledge of risk assessments and safe systems of work

Desirable

  • Experience in medium or heavy industry
  • FLT licence would be advantageous
